- Select “Entire Place” – This ensures you have the whole property without shared spaces.
- Choose “Sleeps X+ Guests” – If you’re hosting a large gathering, set a higher guest count to filter out smaller homes.
- Use the “More Filters” Option – Scroll down and check for amenities like a backyard, pool, or game room to enhance your event.
Search for Event-Friendly Properties
VRBO does not have a direct “party-friendly” filter, so try searching keywords in the listing descriptions. In the search bar, type phrases like:
- “Event-friendly”
- “Perfect for gatherings”
- “Private backyard”
- “Large entertainment space”
Check House Rules and Policies
Click on a listing that interests you and scroll down to House Rules under the property details. Look for any restrictions on events, noise, or maximum guests. If the listing states “No parties or events”, move on to another option.
Contact the Host for Confirmation
If a listing looks ideal but doesn’t explicitly mention events, message the host. Click “Contact Host” and ask:
- Is this home available for a gathering of [X] people?
- Are there any noise restrictions or quiet hours?
- Is there space for extra seating or entertainment?
Look for Secluded or Private Locations
For a stress-free party, choose properties in areas with fewer restrictions, such as:
- Rural properties or estates – Less chance of noise complaints.
- Homes with large backyards or private fences – More privacy for guests.
- Vacation resorts or rental communities – Some allow events with prior approval.
Read Reviews from Past Guests
Scroll down to the Reviews section and check if previous guests have hosted similar gatherings. Look for keywords like “great for a group” or “perfect for entertaining.”
